Ben Abdallah Banda

Ben Abdallah Banda's roots lie in Abofour-Offinso, a town in the Ashanti Region, where he was born on August 15, 1971.

His educational journey began at the University of Ghana, where he pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Law degree in 1998. Recognizing the importance of furthering his legal knowledge, Banda later earned another Bachelor of Law degree from the Ghana School of Law in 2000, solidifying his position as a lawyer by profession.

Banda's political career took flight when he joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP), a prominent political party in Ghana. His dedication and commitment to public service led him to represent the Offinso South Constituency in the Ashanti Region as a member of the Fifth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. He served as the Member of Parliament for Offinso South for three consecutive terms from 2009 to 2021, making substantial contributions to his constituents and the nation.

Ben Abdallah Banda served as the chairperson of the Judiciary Committee, which played a crucial role in shaping the judicial landscape of the country. In addition, Banda also held the esteemed position of chairperson of the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, where he contributed to the development and evaluation of key legislation. As a member of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee, he lent his expertise to ensure the alignment of subsidiary laws with the country's constitution.

In addition to his political achievements, Banda continued to excel in his legal career. As a partner at the esteemed Obeng Manu Law Firm in Kumasi, he showcased his legal acumen and dedication to the practice of law. Banda's expertise in the legal field allowed him to make informed decisions and contributions to the development of Ghana's legal system.

Recognizing his outstanding contributions and commitment to public service, President Akufo-Addo appointed Ben Abdallah Banda as the Presidential Coordinator for the Zongo Development Fund on June 30, 2021. This role underscored his dedication to advancing the development of Zongo communities in Ghana, demonstrating his strong leadership and passion for community progress.

On February 15, 2023, President Akufo-Addo further acknowledged Banda's capabilities by appointing him as the Chairman of the Hajj Board. This appointment aimed to ensure the seamless execution of the Hajj pilgrimage, highlighting Banda's ability to handle critical responsibilities with utmost efficiency.
