Biography

Avraham Granat, later known as Avram Grant, was born in Petah Tikva, Israel, and his father's family had a tragic history during the Holocaust, eventually settling in Israel where he met Grant's mother; Grant changed his surname, faced anti-Semitic threats, and was involved in a police questioning incident, and later received a Polish passport.

Avram Grant, an Israeli football coach, had a successful coaching career in Israel, including stints at Hapoel Petah Tikva, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Haifa, before managing the Israeli national team and later moving on to international clubs like Chelsea and Portsmouth; he has also coached the Ghana national team and is currently the manager of the Zambia national team.
