Education

Born in Kumasi, Ghana, to Dr. Jonathan Emmanuel Bossman and Alice Decker. Dr. Bossman was formerly Ghana's envoy at the UN in Geneva. Anna Bossman attended Holy Child School in Cape Coast before continuing her high school career at Achimota School. She earned a degree in political science and law from the University of Ghana in Legon, and in 1980 she graduated from the Ghana School of Law and was admitted to the Ghana Bar.

Career

Bossman entered private practice after working as an Assistant State Attorney in Ghana's Ministry of Justice. Over the next 25 years, she pursued a career in the oil and gas industry and energy sector, working with major international companies including Tenneco) in Gabon (where she served as the first female secretary-general of the Gabonese Union of Petroleum Companies), Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Angola, as well as in Ghana, where she founded Bossman Consult in 1996.

From 2002 until 2010, she served as the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) of Ghana's Deputy Commissioner before being named Acting Commissioner.

She was appointed ambassador of Ghana to France in June 2017, and on October 13, 2017, she handed French President Emmanuel Macron her letters of credence. She served as both the permanent representative of Ghana to UNESCO .
