Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay

Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay was born on January 1, 1970, in Nyagbo Sroe in the Volta Region.

Angela's educational journey began with an O Level certificate from Nkonya Secondary School in 1981 and a Diploma in Computer Science from the West Africa Computer Science Institute in 1992. Angela holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sociology and History, earned in 2010, from the University of Ghana. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Democracy, Law, Governance, and Development, obtained in 2017 from the University of Cape Coast.

Before entering politics, Angela served as a secretary at Unique Insurance CO. from 1999 to 2003, honing her administrative skills. Her career continued to evolve, and she assumed the role of Manager at Tahnaf Service from 2004 to 2012, showcasing her leadership abilities. One of the pivotal moments in her career came when she served as the District Chief Executive from 2012 to 2016, representing the government of Ghana. 

Angela Alorwu-Tay entered the political arena with a strong sense of purpose and determination. In 2015, she contested and emerged victorious in the NDC parliamentary seat for the Afadjato South Constituency in the Volta Region. During the 2016 general elections in the Volta Region, Angela was one of the five women elected out of nine who contested, highlighting her dedication to gender parity and women's representation in politics. Her victory reflected her commitment to the NDC's principles and values.

Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tayndc secured 19,577 representing 71.26% of the votes in the 2020 election for Afadjato South Constituency, while Flolu Etornam James of NPP received 27.94%, and Bankas Yaw Kumah Edem of NDP obtained 0.79%.
