He was born in 1965 in Anyamam-Ada, Greater Accra, Abayateye pursued Accounting at the University of Ghana, graduating with a Diploma in 1987.
Personal life and career
Abayateye, a devout Christian, is married with six children and attends the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. He is a professional Accountant and currently holds the position of Deputy Manager at the Bank of Ghana.
Politics
He began his political career by winning a seat in Ghana's 4th Parliament for Sege with the National Democratic Congress, retained it in 2008 with 64.9% of the vote, but lost in the party's 2012 primaries to Christian Corletey Otuteye.
