Birth of Alan Kyeremateng

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen was born on October 3, 1955, to Alexander Atta Yaw Kyerematen and Victoria Kyerematen (née Welsing). His father, Alexander Atta Yaw Kyerematen, hailed from Patasse in Kumasi and worked as a social anthropologist. His mother, Victoria Kyerematen, came from Elmina and Ejisu.

Alan Kyerematen attended Asokore Mampong Secondary School and later Adisadel College, beginning at the age of nine. He continued his studies at Achimota School, obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and pursued law, earning an LLB from the Ghana Law School and becoming a practicing attorney-at-law. He also completed a management program as a Hubert Humphrey fellow at the University of Minnesota.

Alan Kyerematen, hailing from a mixed Akan ancestry of the Asante and Fante subgroups, is fluent in Twi and Fante, proficient in Ga and French, married to Patricia Christabel Kyerematen, with two children, Alexander and Victor; he is also involved with his brother Stephen in managing A Wealth of Women Ghana BKD, a foundation formed in memory of his late sister Bridget Kyerematen-Darko, who tragically died in a gas explosion in January 2017, with the foundation affiliated to A Wealth of Women.
