Ibrahim Ahmed was born on May 6, 1974, in Banda Ahenkro.
Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed's dedication to learning started early in life. He completed his Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) in 1989 and went on to pass the GCE "O" level in 1994 and the GCE "A" level in 1996. His consistent pursuit of knowledge reflects his commitment to personal growth and development.
Ibrahim Ahmed earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Ghana in 2002. He furthered his education by obtaining an MBA in Finance in 2019. In addition, he completed IP3 courses in Methodology and Procedure in 2016 and Regulatory Impact Analysis in 2018.
Before venturing into politics, Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed served as the Chief Executive Officer of Flamingo Publications (Ghana) Limited.
Ibrahim Ahmed's political journey began in 2009 when he emerged victorious in the 2008 Ghanaian General Elections for his constituency. He was elected to represent the Banda Constituency in the 5th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana on January 7, 2009. His dedication to his constituents was evident as he sought re-election in 2013, successfully defeating his opponent Joe Danquah.
In 2015, Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed contested and won the NDC parliamentary primaries for Banda constituency in the Bono Region of Ghana. During the 2016 Ghanaian general elections, he secured his parliamentary seat by garnering 6,167 votes, representing 52.03% of the votes, against his opponent's 5,660 votes, representing 47.76%.
Ahmed Ibrahim secured victory with 8,277 votes, equivalent to 50.3% of the total ballots cast. Meanwhile, his opponent, Joe Danquah, garnered 8,195 votes, representing 49.8% of the votes cast.
Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed is actively involved in parliamentary committees, he is a member of the Special Budget Committee, the Communications Committee, the Local Government and Rural Development Committee, and the Business Committee.
Presently, Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed holds the esteemed position of Deputy Minority Chief Whip in the Parliament of Ghana.
