Adina Thembi was born on October 3, 1989, in Liberia to the late Dr. Richard Sekumbuzo Ndamse a South African and a Ghanaian mother Mrs. Mercy Ndamse.
Adina relocated to Ghana at a young age and has become one of the country's most prominent female artists. After attending Wesley Girls Senior High School, Adina pursued her higher education at Central University, where she successfully obtained a degree in Environmental and Development Studies.
Adina's passion for music led her to join the National Theatre Choir, where she showcased her skills by performing at various esteemed events like Kidafest and Fun world shows. At the youthful age of 19, Adina's exceptional abilities propelled her to victory in the 2008 music reality show, "Stars of the Future," which was organized by Charter House Ghana.
Adina quickly gained attention for her unique blend of Afro-pop, Highlife, and R&B influences. Adina's debut single, "Let Me Go," released in 2012, was a massive success and garnered widespread acclaim.
Adina gained widespread recognition for her chart-topping single titled "Too Late," which made its debut on September 30, 2016. Notably, "Too Late" secured two prestigious awards for Adina at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards: Afropop Song of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year. "Record of the Year" and "Best Female Vocalist of the Year."
In 2018 she won the Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards In 2021 her song "Why" won the Best Female Video at 4Syte TV Music Video Awards. She also won the Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year (Why) and Woman of the Year at the 3Music Awards 2021. At the Entertainment Achievement Awards 2021, Adina won the Best Female Artist of the Year.
There have been persistent rumors suggesting that Adina's boyfriend is none other than Kwame Farkye, known as Mr. Swift, a prominent radio personality. Interestingly, neither Adina nor Kwame Farkye have officially confirmed or denied their speculated romantic relationship.
