Kalsoume Sinare

Born in Accra, Ghana, on April 27, 1967, Kalsoume Sinare is the eldest child of Alhaji Adam Said Sinare and Zainab Sinare.

Growing up in Accra, she attended South Labadi Experimental School and later St. Michael's International School in Osu, Accra, for her junior high education. Sinare completed her high school education at Accra High School before pursuing a degree in Public Service and Governance at GIMPA, graduating with second-class upper honors in 2021.

Sinare's foray into the entertainment industry began as a model. In 1990, she represented Ghana at the prestigious Miss Model of the World pageant, showcasing her beauty and charisma on an international stage. Her modeling career paved the way for her television appearances as a commercial model for various consumer products, further enhancing her visibility and popularity.

Sinare's acting journey commenced with her debut in the stage production "Theatre Mirrors." In 1993, she transitioned to the silver screen, making her film debut in "Out of Sight." It was her role in the religiously-themed horror film "Babina" that propelled her to immense popularity in Ghana. Since then, Sinare has graced over fifty films, leaving an indelible mark in the Ghanaian film industry. Notable movies she has starred in include "Darkness of Sorrow," "Princess Tyra," and "Mummy's Daughter."

Throughout her career, Sinare has received numerous accolades for her outstanding performances. Her role in the film "Trinity" earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Zulu African Film Academy Awards. She also garnered nominations at the Ghana Movie Awards for her performances in "Trinity" and "3 Some." In 2017, her lead role in the film "Sala" garnered her the Golden Actress award in the Drama category at the Golden Movie Awards. Sinare's contributions to the industry have been recognized with honors such as the Golden Star (Female) at the Great Excellence Movie Awards and a special Walk of Fame Award at the Golden Movie Awards.

Sinare married former Ghanaian international footballer Anthony Baffoe in 1994, and the couple has three children together. Sinare, a devout Muslim, has actively supported the National Democratic Congress in Ghanaian elections. Her philanthropic endeavors extend to participating in humanitarian activities and initiatives that aim to uplift and empower vulnerable communities.
